Watch Out For These Token Unlocks Coming Up in October

Every month there are pre-scheduled token unlocks that release newly minted tokens to the market. These provide increased supply and if demand gets overwhelmed, the usual scenario is to see a value drop, at least in the short term. This is why traders and holders are closely monitoring such events and why I keep listing these for you here, on my blog.

This October doesn’t present any massive dangers in terms of token unlocks, most of them are minor to moderate amounts, so while I am not too worried about my bags, it’s worth keeping a close eye on these tokens for the coming weeks. Especially if your goal is to accumulate more, using a market dip (that can be a result of such token unlocks) can be a great strategy.

I’m listing these in order by date, starting with Sui, coming up in just 2 days.

SUI

SUI will undergo a scheduled token unlock on October 1, 2025, releasing 44 million tokens—approximately 1.23% of its total supply—into circulation. With over 6.4 billion tokens still locked, the event marks a meaningful liquidity shift and could influence short-term market dynamics. Traders and holders should monitor price action closely, as previous unlocks have coincided with increased volatility and trading volume. 1.23% is not a small amount and it will allow coin holders to access previously frozen funds and use them as they see fit – in many cases this causes a sell-off as long term investors are locking-in profits.

ENA

Ethena (ENA) has a confirmed token unlock scheduled for October 2, 2025, releasing 40.63 million ENA tokens, which represents approximately 0.62% of its total supply. This unlock is part of Ethena’s ongoing vesting schedule and could have a moderate impact on market liquidity depending on sell pressure and investor behavior. Historically, ENA unlocks have ranged between 12–15 million tokens per tranche, so this October release is notably larger than previous events.

Q

Quack AI (Q) is set to unlock $11.21 million worth of tokens on October 2, representing a substantial 24.58% of its market cap. This release marks the second tranche of its airdrop vesting schedule, following the initial token generation event in early September. With only 10% of tokens unlocked at launch and the remaining 90% distributed over four monthly releases, this October unlock could introduce significant volatility depending on holder behavior. As an AI-powered governance infrastructure project, Quack AI’s token utility centers on staking, governance, and access to premium analytics—making this unlock a key moment for both liquidity and protocol engagement.

IMX

Immutable X (IMX) is scheduled to unlock approximately 12.54 million tokens on October 4, 2025, representing around 0.6% of its total supply. This release is part of the platform’s long-term vesting strategy, with allocations likely tied to ecosystem development, team incentives, and strategic partnerships. While the percentage may seem modest, the dollar value—estimated between $8–10 million depending on market conditions—could influence short-term liquidity and trading behavior. Immutable X, known for its Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution for NFTs and gaming, has seen increased activity around previous unlocks, making this event worth monitoring for potential market impact.

HFT

Hashflow (HFT) will unlock 1.7% of its total supply on October 7, 2025, with tokens distributed to core contributors and ecosystem growth initiatives. As a cross-chain DEX protocol emphasizing MEV protection and zero-slippage trading, Hashflow’s unlocks often align with product updates or liquidity expansions, making this event potentially impactful for active traders and holders.

ATA

Automata (ATA) will unlock 1.0% of its total supply on October 8, 2025, continuing its monthly vesting cycle. The release includes allocations for the team and strategic partners. Automata focuses on privacy middleware for Web3 applications, and while the unlock is modest in scale, it’s worth tracking for potential shifts in circulating supply and developer incentives.

HYPC

HyperCycle (HYPC) is set to release 1.9% of its total supply on October 8, 2025, as part of its ongoing vesting program. The unlock will distribute tokens to early backers and ecosystem contributors. As a decentralized AI compute protocol built on SingularityNET, HyperCycle’s token dynamics are closely tied to its infrastructure rollout, and this unlock may coincide with increased staking or node activity.

ARB

Arbitrum (ARB) will unlock approximately 11.5 million tokens on October 9, 2025, representing around 1.2% of its total supply. This tranche is part of the protocol’s long-term vesting schedule, primarily allocated to team members, advisors, and the Arbitrum Foundation. While smaller than the March 2025 unlock, it still introduces meaningful liquidity and could influence short-term price action, especially given Arbitrum’s role as a leading Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution.
