In April it was announced that on 20th May a new token – JUST (JST) – will be airdropped to all the addresses running on TRON’s blockchain that have a TRX balance greater than or equal to 100 TRX.
JUST is a TRON-based decentralized platform for stablecoin lending. JST, its governance asset, allows users to vote on changes to JUST and to pay interest on their USDJ loans.
The announcement for the airdrops (there will be a few of them) was made via a medium post by the Tron Foundation on 15 April and it states:
“OnMay 20th, 2020, JUST Foundation will initiate its first airdrop of JUST (JST) to TRON (TRX) holders. The snapshot will be taken at 00:00 UTC on May 20th. Based on this snapshot, JUST Foundation will initiate its first airdrop of 217,800,000 JUST (JST), corresponding to 2.2% of the total supply…”
The next wave of the airdrop will start on June 20, 2020. During the second wave, 237,600,000 JST or 2.4 percent of the total supply will be distributed over 12 months.
Then from June 2021 over the next 12 months JUST Foundation will airdrop another 257,400,000 JST, corresponding to 2.6% of the total supply. And starting from June 2022 over the next 5 months JUST Foundation will airdrop 277,200,000 JST, corresponding to 2.8% of the total supply.
So, we are looking at a full two years of proportionate airdrops to TRX token holders and this might be a little bit of a relief for the Tron supporters after the value of the currency has been is a steady decline for too long now. Even when many altcoins have already experienced their little bull runs and recovered some of their previous losses, TRX hasn’t been able to do so. It’s currently sitting below 200 sats, a far cry from the 400 it was last year or the highs of 1200 and above.
Exchanges and Wallets that have confirmed their support for the airdrop are:
Binance | Poloniex (of course, they are now owned by Tron) | Kucoin Exchange
DragoneX | Cobo Wallet | Biki | MCX Space M | Token Pocket | HotBit | BitKeep
BitTribe | Hyper Pay | Hoo | BitPie | Math Wallet | Bit-Z
I have not found any such confirmation for Bittrex, Bitfinex or any other major players. Even Ledger, Exodus, Jaxx and Trezor have not issued statements about the airdrop yet, so you might have to do more digging if you hold your Tron tokens there.
