July Token Unlocks: SUI, TIA, Sei, SOL, TAO, OP, IP, NEON, Pi, ZETA and more…

July is here and I’ve compiled a list of the most popular tokens that have massive unlocks this month. As you know, token unlocks mean supply shock to the market and often these cause price volatility, so if you’re trading any of these tokens, you can take advantage of the price swings to maximize your profits or to avoid losses. But first, for those who aren’t too familiar:

What Are Token Unlocks?

In the crypto world, token unlocks are a common event. Upon launch, usually not all of the token supply is immediately provided by the developers. The most common tactic is to release tokens over time, to avoid over-supply which will devalue these tokens, so there are different vesting and release schedules that are in place to navigate demand and supply in a healthy manner. It’s all about letting previously locked-up tokens out into the wild but in a way that will not be too harmful for token holders.. These tokens usually belong to project teams, early investors, advisors, or other folks involved, and they’ve got to wait out a vesting schedule or lock-up period. Once that waiting game is over, the tokens are “unlocked” and ready to be traded, sold, or passed around like hot potatoes.
These events are pretty standard in crypto projects, especially for those that get their funding through private sales, ICOs, or IEOs. They’re all about making sure everyone’s on the same page and pulling in the same direction for the project’s long-term success, while also stopping any quick sell-offs that might shake up the token’s price.

However, no matter how careful a team might be, token unlocks mean more supply coming into the market and unless there’s a huge demand to meet that supply, inevitably, token unlocks cause price volatility (and mostly to the downside). So, with this in mind, here are some of the more notable token unlocks that are coming in this month.

Starting with the largest unlock by value:

Sui (SUI)

• Unlock Date: July 1
• Tokens to be Unlocked: 44 million SUI (0.44% of Total Supply)
• Current Circulating Supply: 3.39 billion SUI
• Total supply: 10 billion SUI

On July 1, the network will release 44 million SUI into the market, continuing its trend of cliff unlocks at the beginning of the month. The tokens are worth $122.3 million and represent 1.3% of the current circulating supply.

ZetaChain (ZETA)

• Unlock Date: July 1
• Tokens to be Unlocked: 44.26 million ZETA (2.1% of Total Supply)
• Current Circulating Supply: 877.5 million ZETA
• Total supply: 2.1 billion ZETA

On July 1, the network will release 44.26 million ZETA tokens, valued at $7.9 million. Core Contributors and the Protocol Treasury will get 13.13 million ZETA and 12.83 million ZETA, respectively. Purchasers and Advisors will receive 9.33 million ZETA. The network has also allocated 5.25 million tokens to the Ecosystem Growth Fund. The User Growth Pool will gain 2.63 million ZETA. Finally, 1.09 million tokens will be kept for Liquidity Incentives.

Celestia (TIA)

• Unlock Date: July 1, 2025
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 33.8 million TIA
• Current Circulating Supply: ~686.9 million TIA
• Total Supply: ~1.13 billion TIA

This unlock is valued at $51.4 million, representing 3% of total supply. It’s one of the larger cliff unlocks this month.

Sei (SEI)

• Unlock Date: July 1, 2025
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 26.97 million SEI
• Current Circulating Supply: ~1.1 billion SEI
• Total Supply: 10 billion SEI

This unlock is worth around $8.1 million, representing ~2.45% of the circulating supply. It’s part of SEI’s ongoing linear vesting schedule.

Jito (JTO)

• Unlock Date: July 1–7, 2025 (linear unlock)
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 4.2 million JTO
• Current Circulating Supply: ~372 million JTO
• Total Supply: 1 billion JTO

Valued at $9.42 million, this unlock is relatively modest in percentage terms but still notable due to Jito’s role in Solana’s liquid staking ecosystem.

IP (Impossible Finance)

• Unlock Date: July 1–7, 2025
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 2.32 million IP
• Current Circulating Supply: ~65 million IP
• Total Supply: ~100 million IP

This unlock is worth $7.28 million, making it one of the smaller but still impactful releases this month, especially for a lower-liquidity token.

Ethena (ENA)

• Unlock Date: July 2
• Tokens to be Unlocked: 40.63 million ENA (0.27% of Total Supply)
• Current Circulating Supply: 6.087 billion ENA
• Total supply: 15 billion ENA

The protocol will unlock 40.63 million tokens worth $10.9 million. The Foundation will receive all of the unlocked tokens, which account for 0.67% of the circulating supply.

On July 4, Sleepless AI (AI) will unlock 17.25M tokens (1.72% of its total supply), valued at $1.96M. Since the interest in AI-integrated crypto solutions keeps increasing, the activity of Sleepless AI after its unlock will be monitored closely.

There are two more, smaller unlocks this week: Galxe (GAL) and Xion (XION) on July 5th.

Galxe is set to launch 3M GAL tokens (1.5% of supply), worth $2.3M. With a market value of $1.51M,

Xion will release 1.68M XION tokens, amounting to 0.84% of the supply.

Optimism (OP)

• Unlock Date: 3 July 2025
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 31.34 million OP
• Current Circulating Supply: ~1.75 billion OP
• Total Supply: 4.29 billion OP

This unlock represents about 1.79% of the circulating supply, and while not massive in dollar terms compared to some other unlocks happening that week, it comes at a tricky time—following OP’s price dip in mid-June. Keep an eye on market sentiment and trading volume as the date approaches.

Pi Network (PI)

• Unlock Date: July 4, 2025
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 19.24 million PI
• Current Circulating Supply: ~318.3 million PI (estimated from total unlocks)
• Total Supply: ~5.58 billion PI

This is the largest single-day unlock for Pi in July, valued at around $9.45 million. It kicks off a month of heavy unlock activity for the project, with over 268 million PI tokens scheduled to be released throughout July2. That’s more than 6% of the locked supply, which could stir up some serious volatility—especially since PI has been sliding in price lately.

NEON (NEON)

• Unlock Date: July 7, 2025
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 53.91 million NEON
• Current Circulating Supply: ~239.5 million NEON
• Total Supply: ~1 billion NEON

This unlock represents a massive 22.5% of the circulating supply, making it one of the largest relative unlocks this month. While the dollar value is around $5.5 million, the sheer percentage of supply being released could create significant selling pressure—especially if market sentiment is already shaky.

Solana (SOL)

• Unlock Date: Ongoing daily linear unlocks
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 465,770 SOL
• Current Circulating Supply: ~520 million SOL
• Total Supply: ~567 million SOL

This unlock is valued at $70.79 million, but it’s just 0.09% of the circulating supply—so minimal impact is expected unless sentiment shifts sharply.

Official Trump (TRUMP)

• Unlock Date: July 18, 2025
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 50 million TRUMP
• Current Circulating Supply: ~200 million TRUMP
• Total Supply: ~1 billion TRUMP

This is a massive $520 million unlock, representing 25% of the circulating supply. It’s one of the largest dollar-value unlocks this month and could create serious volatility

Bittensor (TAO)

• Unlock Date: Ongoing daily linear unlocks
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 50,400 TAO
• Current Circulating Supply: ~8.8 million TAO
• Total Supply: ~21 million TAO

Valued at $17.22 million, this unlock is about 0.57% of circulating supply—modest in percentage, but still notable given TAO’s low float and the overall investors appetite for TAO is diminished, which is a cause for concern.

Dogecoin (DOGE)

• Unlock Date: Ongoing daily linear unlocks
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 95.49 million DOGE
• Current Circulating Supply: ~160 billion DOGE
• Total Supply: Unlimited (inflationary)

This unlock is worth $16.12 million, but it’s only 0.06% of supply—so likely to be absorbed without much disruption

Avalanche (AVAX)

• Unlock Date: July 22, 2025
• Number of Tokens to be Unlocked: 584,800 AVAX
• Current Circulating Supply: ~422 million AVAX
• Total Supply: ~457 million AVAX

This unlock is worth $10.5 million, or 0.13% of total supply—relatively minor in scale.

Altogether, this month marks a critical juncture for token holders, traders, and protocols alike. With billions in newly unlocked supply entering the market, attention should be focused on trading volume, market sentiment, and protocol-specific catalysts. Whether you’re looking to de-risk or capitalize, July 2025 is a month where timing and awareness could make all the difference.
